Your first step is a consultation with Júnior Sousa, our Hair Loss Practitioner. He looks at your scalp magnified on a screen, asks about your history and explains what he sees in plain words. You leave with a written plan that names the sessions picked for your scalp, so you know whether the detox is one of them before you book it.

During the treatment
The detox takes place at our head spa, at the water basin. In general, a scalp detox means an exfoliating product worked into the scalp and then rinsed away with running water. Here, that rinse comes from the water arc, a steady flow of water over your scalp while you lie back.
The exfoliating cleanse goes onto your scalp first. As the water arc rinses it through, it lifts oil, dead skin and product buildup from the follicles, the small openings each hair grows from. Each step is aimed at the skin of your scalp, the part under your hair that buildup settles on.

After your detox
Afterwards, your scalp feels light, clean and fresh. When the detox is part of your written plan, it works alongside the care you do at home that Júnior writes down for you. He checks your progress at every visit and changes the plan as your scalp responds, and your plan is where you see how often a detox comes up.

Yes, and the first step is a consultation where Júnior looks at your scalp. He may point you to the detox or to another option, such as Sensitive Scalp Care Treatment or, for flare-ups, the Anti-Inflammatory Scalp Treatment. Our scalp therapy is not medical treatment, so when something needs a doctor, he refers you to one.
Do I need to choose the detox before my first visit?
No, you do not need to pick a treatment before you come in. When you book, just tell us what bothers you most, such as oil, buildup or flakes. At your consultation, Júnior checks your scalp, and you leave knowing which treatments you will start with.
How is the detox different from the Sebum Control Scalp Treatment?
The detox is an exfoliating cleanse rinsed under the water arc at our head spa. Sebum Control Scalp Treatment uses a deep cleanse and a balancing mask for greasy roots and buildup between washes. If you are not sure which fits, Júnior looks at your scalp at your consultation and points you to the right one.
Is the detox relaxing, or more of a scalp treatment?
It is a cleansing treatment, done while you lie back at the head spa's water basin. If unwinding is your main goal, Essential Oil Scalp Therapy is a slow massage that works an aromatic oil blend into your scalp and eases tension in your head and neck. Your consultation helps you choose between them.
